Sports betting has barreled into Indiana’s casinos in rapid fashion. Almost every casino and off-track betting location is now offering action on sporting events. While some of these facilities may be on the modest side, expect to find technology-heavy experiences no matter the casino. Sports betting went live in the Hoosier State in September 2019. Before that happened, it proved to be quite the popular market as a number of top operators set the wheels in motion to be up and running quickly. In order to be approved for sports betting in Indiana, operators were responsible for an initial $100,000 licensing fee. “The legalization of sports betting in Indiana presents a huge opportunity for Horseshoe Hammond,” said Dan Nita of Caesars. “We are proud to be among the first in Indiana to offer sports betting. I’m optimistic of the positive effect this will have on attracting new customers to our casino.”.

Indiana sports betting is live for both online and in-person wagering. The first brick-and-mortar sportsbooks opened in Sept. 2019, and the market went online statewide in Oct. 2019.
