The big game is finally here and half of the fun with the Super Bowl is betting on the big game. The Kansas City Chiefs opened as favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but there are plenty of ways to bet on the action besides your traditional spread and over/under totals.

While there are plenty of fun exotic prop bets out there like how often Giselle Bundchen is shown on TV or what color of liquid will be splashed on the winning head coach there are also a ton of worthy prop bets to make on the game itself. 10. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – Over 2.5 players to attempt a pass

This one is a fairly cut and dry prop asking you to bet on whether or not a trick play will be attempted in the game. Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady will account for two of the players throwing passes, leaving the third to come from either an injury (which would be unfortunate) or a trick play.

Bruce Arians haven't run a trick play all season but Andy Reid has done so four times in the regular season, having Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins and punter Tommy Townsend throw in a key spot. This line is +165 on DraftKings and is a worthwhile investment for a coach who is known to be very creative like Reid.

9. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – The Coin Toss

The coin toss is always fun to bet on because it's an instantaneous result of win or loss before the action even kicks off. A true 50/50 gamble, both heads and tails are listed at -103 on FanDuel, but some freaky math has skewed the odds towards tails of late.

Seven of the past eight Super Bowls have seen the opening coin toss come up tails, so there is a bit of momentum for the tails side if you feel like playing it. -103 isn't a bad line either so throwing a few bucks on the fact that tails never fails is a solid idea.

8. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – Missed extra point

The change in distance for the extra point a few years back has made a once automatic play riskier. Betting on a missed PAT is certainly an interesting gamble, with DraftKings putting a +228 prop out on either team missing an extra point, but there is a path to victory here.

Harrison Butker has had issues with the extra point this season, missing six in the regular season and one in the Divisional Round, while Ryan Succop missed five in the regular season and one more in the postseason. Jump on this prop since a missed PAT can cash here.

7. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – Chris Godwin over 77.5 receiving yards

One of Brady's favorite targets in Tampa Bay has become Chris Godwin, who is a huge presence for the Buccaneers in the middle of the field. Godwin caught 65 passes for 840 yards in the regular season and another 14 for 223 yards in the postseason.

DraftKings has set Godwin's yardage prop for the Super Bowl at 77.5 yards, a figure he has already eclipsed twice in the postseason and against Kansas City in Week 12. Expect Brady to look Godwin's way often and clear this number fairly easily.

6. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – Tyreek Hill for Super Bowl MVP

The Super Bowl MVP race is heavily stacked towards quarterbacks, which makes sense since 30 of the previous honorees have been quarterbacks. A strong performance from a skill position player can steal the award, however, which can certainly happen with Tyreek Hill.

In the first matchup with Tampa Bay back in Week 12 Hill exploded for 13 catches, 269 yards and three touchdowns. The Buccaneers will try hard to contain him again but if Hill puts up another 10 catches for 150+ yards with multiple touchdowns he could steal the MVP, which would be a nice payday at +1400 on FanDuel.

5. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – Longest TD scored over 46.5 yards

This prop is -115 on FanDuel and is asking you to bet on whether there is a big play in the game. A long touchdown over 47 yards cashes this bet and it makes a ton of sense given how much both teams love to take deep shots.

Mahomes will surely air it out to guys like Hill and Mecole Hardman while Arians believe strongly in the no-risk it, no biscuit mentality. One deep shot should lead to a score here so play the over here.

These next two bets involve finding value in the anytime touchdown scoring market. The big names command a lot of attention, but one interesting value on FanDuel is Brady at +390.

Passing touchdowns don't count for this category so this would mean Brady would need to either rush for a score or catch a touchdown pass. The former route is a realistic possibility if Tampa Bay gets down near the goal line, where Brady has a history of rushing his team to the line of scrimmage and quick-snapping in order to leap over the pile for the score. Playing this here offers fantastic value if the situation arises.

3. Super Bowl 55 prop bets – Rob Gronkowski anytime TD scorer

Let's stick with the Buccaneers here and go for an anytime touchdown with Gronkowski, who is +220 to hit paydirt on FanDuel. Gronkowski has a notable history of big game moments and a strong connection with Brady, who can turn to the big tight end in a big spot.

The Chiefs have also had their issues covering tight ends, allowing seven scores to the position after their Week 10 bye. A +220 payout is a nice bet to make with a strong chance of cashing in on a Gronk spike.

The spread of the Super Bowl is small but there are plays to make in the prop market if you think the margin of victory will be bigger. Kansas City has been victimized by the backdoor cover a lot in the second half of the season, making this a risky play, but more often than not they have built double-digit leads heading into the fourth quarter.

If that happens again and Tampa Bay tacks on a late touchdown a winning margin of 7-12 points would pay out at a +480 price on FanDuel. The likeliest outcome of the game is a Chiefs' victory within that range so placing the bet makes a ton of sense.

This one is priced at -130 on DraftKings but is extremely likely to hit. Mahomes isn't afraid of the big stage, throwing at least three touchdowns in four of the six playoff games he has finished, including this year's AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills.

The Week 12 matchup also saw Mahomes hit paydirt three times as he connected with Hill on three separate occasions for six. Use that precedent as strong evidence to make this the top prop bet on your card for Super Bowl Sunday.

Out of all the Super Bowl prop bets, probably the most common wager is on who will be the MVP. With quarterbacks having won the Super Bowl MVP 28 times out of 54, a quarterback MVP may be the most likely outcome, though it is far from inevitable.

Statistics aside, Brady and Mahomes are sitting at odds of +200 and +100, respectively, on BetMGM. After them, a long gap. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are the two with the next best odds, lagging far behind at +1000 apiece.

With the Super Bowl expected to be a battle of the passers, bettors can be fairly confident that the winning team’s quarterback will nab the MVP. So even if you expect the Chiefs to win, a bet on Brady with those +200 odds could be a solid hedge.

Another common player prop bet is an over/under regarding passing yards for both starting quarterbacks. For Mahomes, the over/under is 326.5 yards at -115 for both positions, for Brady, 301.5 yards, with the same odds.
