Untitled[edit]

You know I always thought the order was Diamonds>Hearts>Spades>Clubs because that's how all my friends were taught and they taught me. They came from the Philipines too.-Bio2590 03:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, that's the same order I had learned it. That is also the rank in these rules: [1]. In addition, the form low < high is somewhat confusing to me. Such as in your comment, it seems more natural to go high > low. I shall fix the order and adjust the format. OutPhase 05:06, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
There seem to be more variations out there. The way I saw it played in high school was definitely clubs>spades>hearts>diamonds, but otherwise it used the President/Asshole ranking system, where straights could be as low as three and as high as you could get it, but they had to be in suit and the other players had to follow with the same number of cards and type of or pass. This variant seems to allow for more strategy, because i often saw people lie out sequences of straights without even waiting for everybody to pass because they already knew the play was unbeatable.

Issues with a couple stated rules[edit]

It is mentioned in the article that a flush beats a straight, but in every variation I have ever played the opposite is true. Flush is half as common in five card-poker than a straight, but once a hand size reaches 10 cards, Straight becomes more common. In fact, at 13 cards, straight is half as common as a flush.

Also, the in the gameplay it is stated that once a person passes, they have to wait for a new round to be able to play again. It's always been my experience that you can again play when it comes back to your turn provided not everyone else had also passed, giving the last player control. I would appreciate any feedback on this. Pliam2000 (talk) 04:22, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
