The Greenbrier is an upscale resort located in southeastern West Virginia. It is the only casino in the United States that is not open to the public.

The casino is not open 24 hours a day. It opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sundays. It closes at 3 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The casino at Greenbrier does not permit smoking.
Greenbrier sports betting by Fanduel Sportsbook
Greenbrier hosts a race and sportsbook. It accepts off-track betting on horse and dog races. It will double as a FanDuel sportsbook upon approval by state regulators and will likely launch September 2018.
Greenbrier casino games
There are 37 table games at Greenbrier. Of those, 18 are blackjack. There are ten eight-deck tables on the main casino floor with limits of $15 to $1,000. The high limit salon has eight blackjack tables and has a $50 minimum bet. These games use six decks.
The blackjack rules are the same at all tables. Double down before and after splitting are allowed. The dealer stands on all 17s. Surrender and re-split aces are not permitted.
There are five other table games at Greenbrier. Those are double zero roulette, baccarat, craps, Three Card Poker and Pai Gow poker. The limits are generally $15 to $1,000. High limit baccarat is dealt in the big-table form with a $50 to $100 minimum bet.
There are two poker tables at Greenbrier. The poker room opens at 7 p.m. nightly. The only game dealt is 2/5 No Limit Texas Hold’em. The buy-in range is $100 to $500. The poker room at Greenbrier does not spread any tournaments.
There are 320 gaming machines at Greenbrier. Most are slots.
Other Greenbrier casino activities
The casino at Greenbrier offers several activities beyond gambling. 42 Below is a dance club that opens from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Twelve Oaks is a lounge located by the racebook. It has happy hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the week and noon to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Greenbrier Royale is another cocktail lounge on the property.
In-Fusion is the dining option at the casino at Greenbrier. It opens at 6 p.m. daily. The last dinner service in 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursday and 10 p.m. on weekends. The menu consists of sushi, tempura, and typical Asian favorites. There are separate wine and dessert menus.
There are many other activities at Greenbrier outside the casino. This includes the famous bunker underneath the resort. It was an emergency Cold War fallout shelter. It is home to a place where Congress could meet in the event of nuclear war.
The tour includes a look at the barracks where Congress members would sleep. It is a unique tour not available anywhere else. This tour is generally open to the public.

Other activities on the property include a spa, bowling and shooting club. These activities are only available to hotel guests.
The Houston Texans held some of their NFL training camp on the property in 2018. Kids will enjoy horseback riding, adventure dome, princess service, biking and access to both an indoor and outdoor pool.
Greenbrier hotel
There are 710 hotel rooms at Greenbrier. Rates start at $208 on weeknights and $268 on weekends during the winter season. Rates are generally $100 higher during the summer months. The accommodations are among the most luxurious in the country. It is a country club-style resort.
These rates are for the Gable room. These have one double bed. Guests can upgrade to a Traditional room for $40 more and get a king bed. These rooms are 260 to 300 square feet.
Other upgrades in the main hotel are Superior and Deluxe rooms. These rooms are $40 to $80 more a night and give another 100 square feet of space.
There are several other upgraded rooms on the property that can double the base rate. These include multi-room cottages that are separate from the hotel. The Draper Suite is available in the main hotel. It is the largest single room on the property.

There are 20 restaurants on the Greenbrier property. All are upscale, though some permit resort attire, many require jackets for men and dresses or slacks for women. Several of these dining options overlook the golf course.
